Always follow your prescriber
Take any medicine exactly as your prescriber and the patient information leaflet tell you. Do not start, change, stop or combine medicines because of something you read here. Talk to the doctor or pharmacist who looks after you first.
In an emergency
If you or someone else may have taken too much of a medicine, has trouble breathing, cannot be woken or has a severe allergic reaction, call 999 straight away. For urgent advice, call NHS 111 or visit 111.nhs.uk.
Accuracy and sources
We check every article against official UK sources and show the date it was last updated. Medical knowledge and safety advice change, so information may become out of date. The official product information for your medicine, and advice from your own healthcare professional, always take priority.
Reporting side effects
You can report suspected side effects, and medicines you think may be fake, on the MHRA Yellow Card scheme. Reporting helps keep medicines safe for everyone.
